Uhuru Kenyatta Defends his Role in the Fight Against Corruption

It’s no secret that Kenya is among the most corrupt countries in the World.  Often, Corruption issues are laid at the feet of the sitting President.  In this case, President Uhuru Kenyatta leader of the Jubilee political party and leader of the Executive branch.

It was yesterday at a Summit arranged by State House and broadcast live on Kenyan Television, that President Kenyatta interrupted proceedings to set the record straight, as he see’s it.  He defended his record in the fight against corruption, by saying he has taken every step that’s constitutionally available to him to curb corruption.  He cited recent suspensions and sackings of government officials as well as fully resourced agencies that are tasked with fighting graft.     Former First Lady Lucy Kibaki has Died

    Former first lady of Kenya, Lucy Kibaki, has died while undergoing treatment at a London hospital.  Mrs. Kibaki was an outspoken and sometimes considered controversial figure in Kenyan politics.  While being First lady, she was in a public feud with the Kenyan Media who she felt  were unfair and often misleading in their reporting of State House and particularly her.  The media often taunted her knowing that their efforts to do so would not go without response, which made for great news.

        President Kenyatta Reshuffles his Cabinet

        Following the resignation of embattled former Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru, it was largely expected that Uhuru Kenyatta would perform a cabinet reshuffle. He took to the podium about an hour ago to appoint new ministers, including replacements for the five Cabinet Secretarys implicated in corrupt activities by the EACC. He also announced additional state departments to be headed by principal secretaries for better service delivery.
